Check every specification

A shared arbor hole does not make a larger blade suitable. The machine must accept the blade diameter, and the blade’s rated speed must cover the operating speed. Unknown specifications mean fit is unconfirmed.

Keep kerf separate from core thickness

Kerf describes material removed by the cut. A listing may also show a core thickness, which is a different measurement. Use the actual kerf for yield estimates and verify ambiguous listing units.

Choose by work, not just thinness

A thin blade can reduce material loss, but suitability also depends on material, blade construction and the way the piece is supported. Do not treat the thinnest option as the universal best blade.
